Grades and Academic Policies

Grades are determined by the individual instructor based on examination and quiz results, class performance, completed assignments, and attendance (either in-class or presence during online chats and discussions forum participation).

A - Excellent - 4.00
B - Good - 3.00
C - Satisfactory - 2.00
D - Passing - 1.00
F - Failure to meet minimum requirements
I - Incomplete-work must be made up by deadline date or it becomes an F
W - Withdrawal-must be done officially in writing
P - Passing-satisfactory achievement in designated P/F Situations

Class Attendance

Students are allowed 2 unexcused absences per semester. Excessive absence may result in a student failing or being dropped from class by the instructor. Students are responsible for completing all assignments assigned during absences. Three instances of tardiness will be counted as one absence.

Final Examinations

Students will be notified in advance of all examinations, and are expected to be present and on time. Students are permitted to sit for an examination only if all work, tests, clinical proficiencies, attendance requirements and financial obligations have been successfully completed.

Should a bona fide emergency arise, the student will inform the school, and offer the instructor verifiable proof of the inability to take the examination at the scheduled time. It is the student's responsibility to make up all examinations within a stipulated time period. A missed examination is to be taken within one week of the original presentation at a cost of $25.00. If the student delays taking the missed test for more than one week (7 days), it will cost the student $50.00. This fee must be paid prior to taking the test.

Incomplete grades must be approved by the program director. If the incomplete grade remains for more than two weeks, an "F" will be entered on the permanent record, and the student will be required to repeat the course at an additional financial obligation.

Suspension

A student is subject to suspension for:

  • Failure to honor tuition commitments.
  • Failure to meet and comply with requests of an instructor or other school official regarding the student's status.
  • Inappropriate attitudes and deportment.

Coursework missed during the period of suspension must be completed.

Unethical Conduct

The College disapproves of cheating and plagiarism in any form, and will take disciplinary action in any instance that involves intentional violation of College policy.

Dismissal

A student is subject to dismissal for:

  • Failure to maintain academic standards
  • Failure to comply with academic and operational policies
  • Failure to rectify causes for suspension within the allotted time
  • Failure to maintain professional conduct
